BADASS Labs is a nonprofit organization that is committed to the growth of biotechnology companies to usher in the next generation of scientists and products that will change our world. We do so by providing an incredible amount of infrastructure by way of office and lab space, as well as deep biotech knowledge to guide our companies to success.

We know that your business is one of the most important things in your life. As a tenant, we don’t only provide you with an office and a lab. We provide you with access to a breadth of biotech knowledge, networks and services. We want to connect you to the right people and technology to make your endeavor flourish.

A membership at BADASS Labs gets you a lot for one flat rate. We have flexible leases and flexible spaces to fit whatever timeline or growth your company needs.

Companies develop at different rates. We don’t dictate to you when you are done. Our 1st priority is to support everyone so those ideas make it to the market and change the world

We have two tiered levels of service depending on the size of your business and what your most pressing needs are.

Tier One: A three month minimum in a shared lab environment where you get maximum support and the longest possible runway. We provide dedicated lab and office space for each member with unlimited access to shared equipment. After a three month minimum, our memberships go month to month with no maximum.
Tier Two: A more traditional sublease private lab space. The space is rented by square footage, and companies are nominally independent within that space. You are able to set your own rules and run your own lab. Typical duration is a year and a half to three years, but other terms are happily considered.

Where are you located?

We have two locations in Alameda, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our original location is at 1010 Atlantic Ave, Suite 102. Our second location is at 1650 Harbor Bay Parkway, Suite 220.

What size of companies do you host?

We have space for companies as small as one person and up to more than 20. Our goal is to support you as long as you’d like to be in the space.

How long does my membership last?

We have flexible leases that have a minimum of three months. Past that, you are welcome to stay at BADASS Labs as long as you’d like. We do not limit the amount of time it will take to see your company find success.

What type of insurance and permits do you require?

You will need insurance to have policies covering workers comp and liability for your employees. We recommend members get certain permits they need to do their lab work, but we will work with you. We have the necessary permits to get you started right away.

Do you take equity or make claims on IP?

BADASS Labs functions as a non-profit organization that takes zero equity in your business or makes any claims to any of your work produced onsite. We are here purely to support your needs and to help to grow.

What services do you provide?

We have accounts with dozens of suppliers with whom we provide purchasing assistance, facilities maintenance, package delivery, conference rooms, a well stocked break room, consultations with legal and business professionals, and more.
