What would a biotech founder want in a wet lab space?
BADASS Labs Founder and CEO, David Kiewlich, started out as a biotech entrepreneur himself in search of wet lab space. What he found was that the Bay Area biotech start up sector was being vastly underserved with the type of lab and office space necessary to thrive. Vacancy was so low, that they are forced to go into spaces that are suboptimal. Working in those environments puts an incurable amount of strain on these companies. With BADASS Labs, our aim is to support startups to create a viable product so that they can go out and get the funding they need.

We have two locations in Alameda, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our original location is at 1010 Atlantic Ave, Suite 102. Our second location is at 1650 Harbor Bay Parkway, Suite 220.
We have space for companies as small as one person and up to more than 20. Our goal is to provide the resources and opportunities for you to take advantage of our space as long as possible.
We have flexible leases that start at a three month minimum. After your lease term, we welcome you to stay in our space, without time limits, as long as necessary for your scale up/graduation and success
Yes we have multiple sites. Our original location is at 1010 Atlantic Ave, Suite 102. Our second location is at 1650 Harbor Bay Parkway, Suite 220. And our third location is at 400 Wakara Way Utah - which will be open soon to the public.

You will need insurance to have policies covering Workers' Comp and Liability for your employees. We recommend members get specific permits they need to do for their lab activities, but we will work with you. We have the necessary permits to get you started right away.
BADASS Labs functions as a non-profit organization that takes zero equity in your business or makes any claims to any of your work produced onsite. We are here purely to support your needs and to be champions to your growth.
We have accounts with dozens of suppliers with whom we provide purchasing assistance, facilities maintenance, package delivery, conference rooms, a well stocked break room, consultations with legal and business professionals and more.
No, there is no additional fee. As a member you will have unlimited access to all sites with dedicated seating and lab space.
All the shared equipment is included in the price. Some labs charge per use of each piece of equipment. We think that science should be based on experimental protocols, not worry about what the bill will be at the end of the month. Good science is based on good data, and sometimes that means running the same experiment multiple times to ensure a good data cluster.
This allows our members to work more as if they are in a company lab or an academic lab, where you run your experiment the way you want to.
